SmartTalent is seeking a skilled customer service freight person who has experience in freight operations. This person will help with the day to day activities for major clients and will include heavy customer service and technical solutions for those clients.

Duties include but not limited to:
As a Customer Service Freight Agent you will work with cartage provider, carriers and operational staff on resolving warehouse, cartage, and other logistics issues.
As a Customer Service Freight Agent you will negotiate for price and service and customer quoting for individual shipments as well as large comprehensive RFQ.
As a Customer Service Freight Agent you will maintain and expand pricing models used in our project business.
As a Customer Service Freight Agent you will do yearly project work that will involve all aspects of logistics in a comprehensive distribution plan and will include project management.
As a Customer Service Freight Agent you will prepare and execute SOP s and SOW s.
As a Customer Service Freight Agent you may work weekends on-call based on a rotating on-call schedule.

Requirements include but not limited to:
High school education or equivalent
Five years progressive work experience in operations, or a four-year degree plus two years customer service or freight operations experience. Business or industry degree preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as tariffs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to calculate freight rates and amounts such percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Microsoft Access - Data Base management a plus

This opportunity is a Temp to hire based on performance and attendance. Hourly pay rate of $ $17.22 - $20.50/hour depending upon experience.

Upon conversion there is a great benefit package available. During the temporary period SmartTalent offers an ACA compliant healthcare plan as well as a supplemental plan.
